The Adhan

What to say while the call to prayer is being made and immediately after it.

  1. 1.Answering the Testimony in the Adhan

    وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا

    And I too bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. I am content with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger, and with Islam as my religion.

    Said while repeating after the muadhdhin

  2. 2.The Dua After the Call to Prayer

    اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ

    O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and of the prayer about to be established, grant Muhammad the station of nearness and the highest rank, and raise him to the praiseworthy place You have promised him.

  3. 3.The Short Salawat

    اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ

    O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad.
