Returning From a Journey
آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
Ayibuna ta'ibuna 'abiduna li-rabbina hamidun.
We return, repenting, worshipping and praising our Lord.
What it means
Four words describe the traveller coming home: he returns, he repents, he worships, he praises. Travel loosens routines and habits, so the return is treated as a moment to reset rather than simply to unpack.
When and how
Say it once on the way back, and repeat it as you come into your own town.
Its virtue
The Prophet ﷺ would add these words to the travel dua when he was returning, reported in Sahih Muslim 1342.
