Leaving the Home

In the name of Allah. I rely upon Allah. There is no power and no strength except with Allah.

What it means

You step out of the one place you control into a day you do not. The dua puts your reliance in the right place and admits, in its last phrase, that you cannot move or manage anything except by Allah enabling it.

When and how

Say it once as you leave, every time you go out, not only for long trips.

Its virtue

The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever says this on leaving his house is told: you have been guided, you have been taken care of, you have been protected, and Shaytan turns away from him, reported in Sunan Abi Dawud 5095 and Jami at-Tirmidhi 3426.
