Allah Is Enough for Me
Allah is enough for me. There is no god but Him. Upon Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the mighty Throne.
What it means
These are the words Allah told His Messenger ﷺ to say when people turned away from him. Hasbi means He is sufficient, which is a stronger claim than He will help; it means the account is already settled with Him and nothing else needs to be added. Saying it puts the weight of a situation down where it belongs.
When and how
Say it in the morning and evening, and whenever a situation is out of your hands. If you wish to follow the practice of repeating it seven times, do so knowing the Quranic wording itself is what carries it.
Its virtue
It is a verse of the Quran, the closing words of Surah at-Tawbah, given to the Prophet ﷺ as his response to rejection. Many believers have recited it seven times morning and evening following a narration in Sunan Abi Dawud 5081, though scholars differ over the strength of that particular report.
