After the Rain
مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ
Mutirna bi-fadlillahi wa rahmatih.
We have been given rain by the grace of Allah and His mercy.
What it means
The Prophet ﷺ contrasted this with saying that the rain came because of a particular star or season. The difference is not in the meteorology but in where the heart turns when something good arrives: to a cause, or to the One who arranged the cause.
When and how
Say it after rainfall, in place of treating the weather as a matter of luck.
Its virtue
Reported from Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, who said the Prophet ﷺ told them that whoever says this believes in Allah, in Sahih al-Bukhari 846.
